Mel Tillis… a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame, and legendary star of the world famous Grand Ole Opry has made his mark as both an entertainer and song writer.
Mel’s many hits include “Detroit City”, “Ruby”, “Coca Cola Cowboy”, and “Heart Over Mind”. His award winning talent as both a singer, comedian and all-round entertainer along with his chart topping songs make “Mel Tillis & The Statesider Band” one of the most in-demand shows on the road today.
Mel Tillis started performing in the early 1950’s. He has performed world-wide, and has written over one thousand songs, six hundred of which have been recorded by major artists resulting in more than thirty Top Ten Singles. For six years he was also named Comedian of the Year.
