A Christmas Tradition!
When families think of seeing the Nutcracker ballet during the holiday season, it may bring back fond memories of childhood while enjoying this classic performance.
This winter, families from Regina and the surrounding area, may want to relive some of that childhood magic by attending The Nutcracker again, or perhaps experience it for the first time.
The perfect romantic evening for a couple or a fun activity for the little ones during the holiday season, The Nutcracker is about a young girl who receives a special gift for Christmas. Her wooden Nutcracker doll present magically comes to life, as do many other Christmas characters, and the girl is transported to a world of graceful dancers, dastardly mice and a heroic Nutcracker prince.
Dancers of all ages, amateur and professional, will play roles in the production. Versions of the ballet have been adapted throughout the globe, and its wordless plot is easily understood and admired by all.
Our Production
For the 4th consecutive year, Class Act Performing Arts Studios Annual Full-Length production of The Nutcracker Ballet, will include performances by guest professionals and auditioned amateur performers. There will be matinee and evening performances.
This rendition of The Nutcracker Ballet will include a festive celebration prior to the evening performances. Children can enjoy dressing up as their favourite characters, and may join in a caroling sing-a-long presented by the Class Act Show Choir.
Based on the classic story, the ballet was originally choreographed by the famous Marius Petipa, to the amazing score by Tchaikovsky. In this production audiences will have the opportunity to see a new adaptation by choreographer Monica Ventura. Children who attend the evening performances may have a unique chance to be a part of the actual show, for one child will be chosen every performance to be “Mouse for the Day” and will be given a small role at the beginning of the presentation.
